Woohoo!

wpid9070-AU0E5564-Edit.jpgI shall be a touch self-congratulatory here and celebrate something good that happened to me.  Rotor Magazine held their annual photo contest and I entered a picture in the category Helicopters at Work.  I am happy to say I won the category.  The picture was in the edition of the magazine for Heli-Expo and was on show at the event itself.  Many thanks to the guys at Midwest Helicopters.  It was one of the shoots with them that the shot came from.  I hope they are as glad as I am!

Travis

This is a plug for the magazine.  For those averse to gratuitous advertising, look away now.  Global Aviation Resource’s digital magazine was running a feature on the Air Force Reserve.  Paul Dunn was leading the article but wanted some help on the piece so I joined him at Travis AFB located between the Bay Area and Sacramento in California.  This is an area I am spending a lot of time in at the moment but it was fun to do something a little different!

Since the magazine will be the outlet for a lot of the work from the day, I can’t put too much in here at the moment.  The Reserve article is live in the current issue but there will be some follow up material in later issues.  However, here are a couple of shots from the day.  The team at Travis were as helpful as you could possibly want and many thanks to everyone there for taking such good care of us.  My only complaint is that Paul broke the sim but that is another story…

Global Aviation Magazine

The team that has been bringing you Global Aviation Resource for over two years has been working on an additional product to bring aviation themed material to a wide audience. The launch of Global Aviation Magazine is the result of their hard work.

The first issue is now available here and I recommend you take a look if aviation is an interest of yours. I might also suggest you take a peek at a piece on helicopter lifting operations written by someone with a familiar name.

Check it out and let us know what you think.
