Serious Looking Yacht

Whenever I see a large looking yacht in a harbour, I am apparently compelled to make a blog post about it. This one was in Lymington when we were catching the ferry to Yarmouth during the summer of 2025. When I saw it, I wondered just how nice it would be on board and what crew you would have to operate it. I suspect it would look rather good when under sail.

The route into Lymington from the Solent involves a relatively narrow channel. Alongside the deeper water are mooring points for the local boats. As we headed back in after our day over on the Island, I was quite taken by the organised lines of boats. They seemed so perfect in what would normally be a relatively random looking scenario. Here is how they looked from up on the deck of the ferry.

How Many Cameras Do You Need?

While waiting for the ferry at Lymington, I saw this post with the various cameras that Wightlink uses to keep track of what is happening in the loading area. There are quite a few cameras here. I wonder whether they are all in use or some have replaced others that haven’t been taken down. Either way, there are a lot of cameras on this one pole!
